A Passion That Runs Deep
THE ONE IN A MILLION embodies the pursuit, discovery and development of a creation that is truly one of a kind.
Founder and second-generation vintner Greta Montgomery grew up in the Napa Valley, where she quickly came to see winemaking not only as an art form, but as a lasting expression of craftsmanship, care, and personal commitment.
In 1996, her family acquired a historic wine estate in Rutherford. From a young age, Greta immersed herself in the rhythms of the vineyard and the science of enology. That early connection to the land and its legacy never faded — it deepened.
“It was important for me from the very start to understand all facets of the industry. Winemaking begins in the vineyard, and the journey to your glass is never linear. There is something undeniably fulfilling about having the ability to create something truly unique that will tell a story for years to come.”
Greta now oversees every aspect of her family’s estate vineyard, managing the vines with a hands-on approach. Her deep involvement continues in the cellar, where she partners with one of Napa Valley’s most esteemed winemakers, Julien Fayard, to craft terroir-driven wines of structure, purity, and finesse.
Together, they envisioned a wine of elegance
and integrity: expressive, precise, and unlike anything else.
Greta’s attention to detail is evident in every stage. From selecting vineyard blocks to overseeing fermentation and pressing, she is present throughout the process. Even the final touches — each label applied by hand, every silver wax seal carefully dipped — reflect her personal dedication.
“When you find what you love, it becomes an extension of you. My hope is that my wines accompany others in celebrating their own one-in-a-million moments — the people, places, and memories that stay with us."
